Ilfracombe is one of North Devon's most charming and characterful seaside towns, sitting on the rugged North Devon coast surrounded by dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and some of the most spectacular scenery in the South West.
The harbour is the heart of the town — a working Victorian quayside lined with independent restaurants, bars and gift shops where you can watch the catch of the day come in and sample the freshest seafood around. Damien Hirst's iconic 66ft Verity statue stands guard at the pier and has become one of the town's most talked-about landmarks.
Just a short walk from the property you'll find Tunnels Beaches — a unique slice of Ilfracombe history. The four tunnels were hand-carved in the 1820s to give access to otherwise unreachable stretches of beach and tidal pools, and they remain one of the most distinctive attractions on the Devon coast.
For those who love the outdoors, Ilfracombe is a brilliant base. The South West Coastal Path runs right through the town, offering stunning cliff-top walks towards Hele Bay and Hillsborough Nature Reserve. Water sports are well catered for with coasteering, kayaking and paddleboarding all available locally, and boat trips run from the harbour to Lundy Island where you can dive with grey seals.
Culture lovers are equally well served. The Ilfracombe Aquarium, the town museum, St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill (the oldest working lighthouse in England) and a thriving independent art scene give the town a depth that goes well beyond your typical seaside resort.
Further afield, Woolacombe's famous surf beach is under 30 minutes by car, Exmoor National Park is within easy reach for hiking and horse riding, and family attractions including Watermouth Castle and Combe Martin Wildlife Park are just a short drive away.

GETTING AROUND
Walking - The property is well located with many amenities within walking distance including Ilfracombe Harbour, Tunnels Beaches and the High Street with its shops, cafes and restaurants.
Car - The A361 is just a short drive away and provides access to Barnstaple and the wider North Devon coast. There are lots of amenities within driving distance including Woolacombe Beach, Combe Martin and Exmoor National Park.
Taxi - A Taxi Ilfracombe is Ilfracombe's largest local firm and covers the wider North Devon area, including transfers from Barnstaple train station.
𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐋𝐘:
* A fully refundable security deposit is required prior to check-in. This is held on your card in the same way hotels process a deposit at check-in. The hold is renewed every 5 days (as it cannot remain active for longer). While some banks display this as a transaction and others as a pending hold, please note it will not be charged unless there is a breach of our terms and conditions.
Alternatively, guests may choose a non-refundable damage waiver instead of the security deposit. The waiver provides coverage of up to £265 for accidental damage during your stay. Please note that it does not cover intentional damage, unauthorised activities (such as smoking or parties), excessive cleaning, pet-related damage, or loss/theft of property.
* All guests are required to complete our pre check-in form, including acceptance of our booking terms and conditions and provision of a copy of ID prior to check-in.
* Please message us if you require a late check-out. This can be organised at an additional cost.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING POLICY:
For long-term bookings (14+ nights), we require mid-stay cleaning and linen changeovers at an additional cost to maintain the property's high standards. Please enquire about additional discounts for long-term stays with Renzo.
